The Palais de Tokyo places accessibility at the core of its public service mission, making it a concrete and ongoing commitment. This commitment is built progressively over time, through continuous improvements to our spaces, visitor services, and digital tools.
In 2025, the palaisdetokyo.com website underwent an audit based on the French General Accessibility Improvement Framework (RGAA), achieving a 99% compliance rate. This provides a strong foundation for further evolving our practices.
Since then, we have implemented several improvements to enhance accessibility in navigation and content, including clearer visitor information, better page structuring, and the gradual development of features that facilitate access to content.
We have also designed the “Palais Map” section as a simple tool to help visitors prepare their visit: a clear map, practical information, and reference points to better navigate the building, including for adapted visitor routes.
Some developments are currently being deployed, such as anchor-based navigation and automatic tables of contents. Other initiatives, such as providing transcripts and audio descriptions for video content, are underway and are being progressively implemented, with priority given to new content.
Finally, we are developing more accessible editorial content, such as a presentation video of the Palais de Tokyo in French Sign Language (LSF), designed to make the venue more immediately understandable and welcoming, both online and upon arrival in the institution’s lobby.
This approach is still evolving. It involves ongoing decision-making, testing, and adjustments. We are moving forward with the aim of making the Palais de Tokyo accessible to everyone, while remaining attentive to feedback and user experience in order to continue improving.
The Palais de Tokyo is committed to making its websites, intranet, extranet, and software applications (as well as its mobile applications and digital public installations) accessible, in accordance with Article 47 of Law No. 2005-102 of February 11, 2005.
